Novel has demonstrated expertise in numerous areas as a full-service system, electronics and software design, development, and verification and validation solutions provider.  Our areas of proven performance that bring the value and immediate solutions to the DoD and available to be performed under this contract are:

Research and Development Support: Novel has demonstrated capability in Research and Development support. Novel’s organization has a dedicated Technical Solutions Group (TSG) that drives R&D and cutting edge development in systems, electronics, and software that will allow the Navy and Marine Corps to maintain technical advantage and expertise in warfighter capabilities.

Engineering, System Engineering, and Process Engineering Support.

Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis Support.

System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support: Novel provides Technical and Analytical Assessments for organizations and their processes. Novel has the proven ability to conduct on-site evaluations, audits, and interviews to assess the operational deficiencies in the customer’s work environment and processes. Novel uses its LeadVMCS process as a guideline from which to evaluate and make recommendations to improve an organization’s processes.

Software Engineering, Development, Programming, and Network Support: Novel will provide high-quality Engineering, Systems Engineering and Process Engineering Support for the Navy and Marine Corps. Novel’s ability to integrate professional support services in these areas are demonstrated and shown in our past performance selections. Novel has used best practices to deliver Systems Engineering support in the design, integration, verification, and validation of multifarious systems and subsystems and the interfaces between them. Novel’s Systems Engineering solutions are centered around electronics, software, electronic and electro-mechanical systems.

Configuration Management (CM) Support: Proper configuration management eliminates problems due to missing, erroneous or out of date work items; eliminates waste due to unintended change, and ensures that all data items can be retrieved with absolute integrity in the future. Internally, Novel uses Subversion (SVN), Redmine, and Jira for configuration management and change control. Due to the fact that Novel interacts with many customers, we have become skilled in Clear Case/Clear Quest, Jira, Git, Redmine, TFS/Visual Source Safe, Perforce, and CVS. Additionally, our processes (LeadVMCS, AS9100) require extensive use and expertise in Configuration Management.

Quality Assurance (QA) Support: Our processes are independently audited to AS9100 compliance. Departments are independently audited internally (the quality department reports directly to the CEO, not through operations or engineering) as well as externally by ISO recognized third party auditors. Using our own expertise, as well as the expertise of our Quality Directors and Principals, Novel has performed Quality Assurance activities for its customers GE, Alstom, and Thales. We have provided independent auditing for quality and processes for its customer’s subcontractors such as on the Boeing 787 program. In the realm of Safety Critical Engineering (especially commercial aerospace), our principals have been contracted to run third party quality auditing to support the Subcontractor Management Plans required for FAA certification of avionics.

Analytical and Organizational Assessment Support: Novel provides Technical and Analytical Assessments for organizations and their processes. Novel has the proven ability to conduct on-site evaluation, audits, and interviews to assess the operational deficiencies in the customer’s work environment and processes. Novel uses its LeadVMCS process as a guideline from which to evaluate and make recommendations to improve an organization’s processes.
